Points scored per shooting possession, counting twos, threes and free throws in one rate.
Formula
TS% = points / (2 x (FGA + 0.44 x FTA))True shooting extends eFG% to free throws. The 0.44 converts free throw attempts into the share that ends a possession, since some trips come in pairs, some are and-ones and some are technicals.
It is the usual way to compare scorers who get their points differently: a rim finisher who lives at the line and a spot-up shooter who never gets there.
The common mistake
A scorer who takes few shots can post a high TS% that does not hold up at a bigger workload. Read it next to attempts per game.
